Mark Murray

Founder & Director of Whysup Ltd

Mark Murray is the Co-Founder and Director of Whysup, a UK-based organisation dedicated to improving understanding of mental health, wellbeing, and addiction through education and lived experience. Through Whysup, Mark works with schools, businesses, sports organisations, and rehabilitation centres, delivering programmes that address issues such as stress, unhealthy coping mechanisms, substance use, behavioural addictions, and personal resilience.

Before founding Whysup, Mark experienced a debilitating gambling addiction. His journey through recovery became a turning point, shaping his commitment to helping others understand the realities of addiction and the pathways to rebuilding a life. Today, Mark’s work often focuses on helping people recognise the patterns that lead to destructive habits, while also emphasising personal responsibility alongside the importance of community support.

Mark also regularly speaks about mental health, addiction, and recovery, encouraging organisations and communities to move beyond stigma and engage in more open, constructive conversations about wellbeing. Through Whysup, he continues to advocate for practical approaches that empower people to take meaningful steps toward healthier, more stable lives.
