Fatima Zaman
CEO Serenity UK Care
Fatima Zaman is a social care leader, mental health advocate, and community champion with more than twenty years of experience shaping services where vulnerable individuals are supported to heal, grow, and thrive.
Drawn to care work from a young age, Fatima began her career supporting adults with mental health needs and mild learning disabilities. What began as a profession soon became a lifelong calling, leading her to co-found Serenity UK Care, a network of care homes and supported living services built on the principles of dignity, compassion, and recovery-focused practice.
With certifications in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), forensic psychology, and ethical decision-making, Fatima has designed and implemented evidence-informed programmes that have delivered measurable improvements in wellbeing and recovery outcomes. In recognition of her contribution to the field, she was awarded an Honorary Professorship from Oxford University in December 2025. She is also the creator and lead facilitator of a CPD-accredited course, Behavioural Resilience: A Dynamic Framework, equipping professionals with practical tools to strengthen emotional resilience and ethical leadership in complex care environments.
Alongside her professional leadership, Fatima serves as a local councillor, where she champions inclusive policy, contributes to health and social care committees, and collaborates with national organisations to advance mental health initiatives.
Beyond her work in the UK, Fatima is a passionate advocate for gender equity and access to education. Through her involvement with UN Women UK initiatives and her role as a Trustee for PAGE (Pakistan Alliance for Girls Education), she actively promotes educational opportunities for underprivileged girls in Pakistan. These platforms enable her to extend her expertise in mental health and training to a global stage, advancing empowerment, resilience, and opportunity for young women worldwide.
