Louise Timmins

Chief Stewardship Officer of The Leprosy Mission

Louise Timmins serves as Chief Stewardship Officer at the Leprosy Mission, the UK’s leading organisation working to end leprosy across Asia and Africa through healthcare, education, community development and advocacy.

She has over two decades of experience in fundraising and communications, overseeing strategic partnerships with philanthropic individuals, trusts, corporates and other organisations. Her growth mindset and relational approach to both leadership and supporter stewardship raise income exceeding £10million annually. She is a respected public speaker and has been recognised as one of the most influential fundraisers in the UK. Her team has won many sector awards for both achievements and impact.

Louise ensures that resources are raised and managed effectively to support sustainable programmes that transform lives in forgotten communities. Her passion lies in amplifying the voices and stories of people affected by leprosy, advocating for dignity, inclusion, and practical support. She regularly travels to meet communities in Asia and Africa, learning directly from people affected by leprosy so that their experiences can help shape her work in the UK and beyond.

Through her leadership and determination, Louise continues to strengthen The Leprosy Mission’s impact, helping to shift the public perception of leprosy and ensuring sustainable change for marginalised communities.

Since 2006, Louise has run the UK arm of Brighter Future International, an Indian charity caring for 200 children. As UK Country Head (unpaid) for this organisation, she is committed to seeing vulnerable children supported to reach their full potential.
