Jonathan Broom-Edwards MBE
Paralympic High Jump Champion
Jonathan Broom-Edwards MBE is a Paralympic Champion High Jumper, Performance Keynote Speaker, Soft Tissue Therapist and Sporting Ambassador.
Born with congenital talipes equinovarus, Jonathan learned to adapt early on in his life. What began as an interest in sport and movement soon evolved into a lifelong study of how the body and mind can work in harmony under pressure.
After earning a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Loughborough University and playing basketball, Jonathan discovered his talent for high jump and after being spotted for Paralympic sport, quickly rose through the ranks of para-athletics.
In 2013, he made his international debut and, within a decade, he had become one of Britain’s most celebrated British Paralympians. To date, Jonathan has won gold at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, three World Championship titles, as well as multiple European, World and Paralympic medals. His personal best of 2.15 m ranks among the highest in history.
Appointed MBE in 2022 for services to athletics, Jonathan continues to champion inclusion and mental well-being through sport. Beyond his personal success, Jonathan is a qualified soft-tissue therapist and performance keynote speaker.
He applies principles of biomechanics, rehabilitation, and mental conditioning to help others unlock their potential, working with anyone from elite athletes to corporate teams.
Additionally, his speaking and coaching work focuses on resilience, adaptive leadership, and growth through adversity, offering practical tools grounded in lived experience.
